Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja team will on Sunday, June 12, (today) land in Eldoret Town in Uasin Gishu County for a Major political rally.
The team will be led by Odinga's running mate Martha Karua and is set to hold a major rally at Huruma Grounds in Turbo constituency before sneaking their way into the heart of Eldoret town for roadside rallies.
This will be the third time Raila's team is landing in Uasin Gishu county, after the ODM chief made a grand entry into the town in October 2021 during BBI consultative forums.
Raila's second visit to the county in April this year, however, was met with ugly scenes after his chopper was attacked in Kabenes area after condoling with the family of famous late businessman Jackson Kibor.
Martha Karua is expected to be welcomed into Uasin Gishu by a number of Azimio leaders in the region including Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos, former ambassador to Austria Stephen Tarus, former Cabinet Minister Sally Kosgei, and a number of Azimio leaders.

On the other hand, the coalition's Presidential candidate Raila Odinga will pitch camps in Machakos county together with Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka for similar political rallies. This will be the first rally for the two after jetting out of the country into the DRC Congo for private visits.
Uasin Gishu is the home county of Deputy President William Ruto, who is the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader and Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate in the August 9, General Election.
