President Elect William Ruto was Wednesday put to task to explain his stand on the LGBTQ community.
In an interview with CNN, Ruto who previously said that Same sex relationship has no room in Kenya, was asked to explain his take on the community now that he is president.
The outgoing Deputy President however took on the question head on saying they respect everybody's take on the matter.
"We have Kenyan law, Constitution, traditions and our customs. We will continue to respect other people's customs as they respect our customs and our tradition," he said.

He added:
"We do not want to create a mountain out of a molehill. This is not a big issue for the people of Kenya," he said.
"When it becomes a big issue for the people of Kenya, the people of Kenya will make a choice."
Ruto appeared to agree with the remarks of President Uhuru Kenyatta during his interview with CNN where he said the issue is not acceptable in the Kenyan society.
"This is an issue of society, of our own base as a culture, as a people, regardless of which community you come from, this is not acceptable, this is not agreeable," Uhuru said then.
Ruto noted that the rights of the community will be decided on by Kenyans when the opportune time will come.
"When the issue of homosexuality and the rights of LGBTQ will come, the people of Kenya will make a choice and we will respect it."
