President William Ruto had declared imminent vacancies in two posts in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The tenure of the commission's chairperson Wafula Chebukati, and two commissioners is due to lapse early next year.
In a gazette notice published by the president on Friday, October 21, he indicated the readiness of the panel charged with undertaking the recruitment of the officers set to occupy the positions.
"Whereas it is required that at least six months before the lapse of the term of the chairperson or member of the commission, the president shall appoint a selection panel consisting of seven persons for purposes of appointment of the chairperson or member of the commission," partly reads the notice.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7A(2) of the IEBC Act as read with paragraph 1 (1) of the first schedule, I William Ruto, president of the Republic of Kenya notify of the impending vacancies in the position of chairperson and two members of the IEBC," it adds.

The two commissioners are Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye.
Chebukati replaced the embattled Isaac Hassan who left the office unceremoniously in 2016.
The outgoing chairperson has presided over two general elections both of which have been marred by controversies.
In 2017, the Supreme Court annulled the presidential results on grounds of electoral irregularities on the part of the commission.
In 2022, the presidential vote was also challenged but Chebukati got a lifeline after the apex court upheld his determination of the results.
