The President William Ruto-led UDA party has been earmarked for the lion's share in the Political Parties Fund that will soon be disbursed.
The monies all valued at KSh 1. 48 billion will be distributed amongst 48 political outfits borne in the directory of the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).
As per the provisions of the law, 70% of the money is distributed based on the total number of votes secured by every political party in the latest General Election.'
Owing to the number of seats the UDA party bagged in the August 9 polls, the ruling political outfit has been allocated KSh 577 million, with the Raila Odinga-led ODM party getting KSh 308 million.
For an outfit to be considered, it ought to have secured at least 3% of the total number of votes cast in the preceding General Election.
Other big beneficiaries in the pecking order are; the Jubilee Party (KSh 135 million), Wiper party (KSh 72 million), DAP-K (KSh 31 million), UDM (KSh 26.8 million), ANC (KSh 26.6 million), Ford Kenya (KSh 25.8 million) and KANU (KSh 23.9 million).
Others are DEP (KSh 13.7 million), KNC (KSh 1.8 million), DP (KSh 5.4 million), PNU (KSH 4.4 million), KSC (KSh 1.2m), PPOK (KSh 3.1m), MDP (KSh 582,000), NARC (KSh 5.1m), KADU-ASILI (KSh 479,800), CPK (KSh 1m), Safina (KSh 3m), CCU (KSh 3.9m), NAP K (KSh 2.2m), PEP (KSh 837,000), PDP (KSh 795,000), SPK (KSh 687,700), UPIA (KSh 8.9m), FPK (KSh 1.2m), MP (KSh 6.7m), CCM (KSh 8.1m), and UPF (KSh 1.9).
