In 2025, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki became an unexpected internet sensation, dominating Kenyan memes with a string of bold, quirky, and instantly quotable statements.
His off-the-cuff remarks, delivered with his signature intensity, repeatedly caught the attention of online audiences, turning political soundbites into cultural moments. Here are five viral lines that kept Kenyans laughing, debating, and sharing throughout the year.
Mimi ni noma si noma, mimi ni fire si fire
Debuted early in the year during his campaign rallies, “Mimi ni noma si noma, mimi ni fire si fire” showcased Kindiki’s flair and determination.
He delivered it with force to energise supporters, assert his authority, and unsettle political rivals, adding a theatrical punch to his speeches.
He also used the phrase while showering praises to his boss, President William Ruto, and while campaigning for the UDA Candidate Leonard Wamuthende in Mbeere North.

The phrases' catchy rhythm quickly captured social media, inspiring TikTok sketches, motivational videos, and countless memes, turning it into a signature expression of confidence and boldness.
Nani akose base?
Kindiki also responded to critics who mocked his soft-spoken tone, particularly former Attorney General Justin Muturi, who had recently taken aim at him during a public gathering.
Muturi imitated Kindiki’s voice with exaggerated “soprano sounds” while discussing housing fund allocations, saying, “Io pesa ya housing, President William Ruto anapatia ule jamaa wa kuongea (soprano sounds) ati for empowerment.”

Unfazed, Kindiki fired back with his characteristic wit and authority. He challenged the suggestion that he lacked base, asking rhetorically: “Nani akose base? Mimi nakaa kama mtu anaweza kosa base mimi? Ukiniangalia vizuri, naweza kosa base mimi?”
His sharp, humorous response drew laughter from the crowd and instantly went viral online.
TikTok users and meme creators turned it into clips, skits, and edits, cementing it as a memorable, viral moment that showcased Kindiki’s composure, confidence, and ability to turn ridicule into content.
Wewe Goliathi
Another standout viral moment came from Mbeere North, where intra-coalition rivalry with former DP Rigathi Gachagua’s camp was heating up.
Here, Kindiki delivered the now-famous “Wewe Goliathi, wewe Goliathi!” The statement, filled with intensity and theatrical flair, was interpreted as a pointed political warning, but online audiences quickly repurposed it for humor, using it as a template for playful rivalries, challenges, and social commentary.
"Wewe Goliathi! Wewe Goliathi! Wewe Goliathi! Umetisha watu siku mingi. umetesa watu siku mingi. Siku zako zimehesabika.... Wewe Goliathi Wewe Goliathi mimi nakuambia hivi saa zako zimeisha. There is a new sheriff in town, Kindiki said.
Today, the phrase is widely used in TikTok skits, remix challenges, and reaction memes, any moment where someone wants to theatrically “warn” or mock a friend, rival, or trending public figure.
Ntapita na wewe
Campaigning in Mbeere North, Kindiki issued a fiery, thinly veiled warning seemingly aimed at Rigathi Gachagua, coining the now-viral phrase “ntapita na wewe.”
To assert his political strength, Kindiki invoked his past role in the ICC cases involving former President Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto, arguing that if he was able to take on Prosecutor Moreno Ocampo and wwon, then local politicians posed no real challenge. He insisted he would easily “crush” anyone who tried to intimidate him.
“Enda ukiendanga, my friend. Auwezani na mimi you are a small man. Nimepigana na Ocampo tukamwangusha. Niseme nisiseme… Huyu mtu mwingine ni nani anakuja kuturingia hapa? Wewe, ntapita na wewe! Wewe, ntapita na wewe! Ntapita na wewe! Mimi, my friend, naitwa fire,” he declared to roaring applause.
The phrase “Wewe ntapita na wewe!” has since exploded online, becoming a go-to punchline in memes, skits, and playful warnings aimed at exes, friends, and anyone caught in lighthearted rivalry.
