"I want to humbly ask the president that when we make promises, let us ensure there is money to complete the projects."

Marakwet West Member of Parliament Timothy Kipchumba has taken a swipe on President William Ruto over his promises to Kenyans.

Speaking during an event in his constituency on Thursday, August 29, Kipchumba asked President Ruto to ensure that there was enough money to complete the projects when he makes promises.

The lawmaker claimed that it was the unfulfilled promises that prompted the young people to break into the parliament buildings during the anti-government protests.

"I want to humbly ask the president that when we make promises, let us ensure there is money to complete the projects. Every time I meet the president, I inform him of the uncompleted projects. These Gen Zs the other day came to attack us in parliament because of telling lies to Kenyans," Kipchumba remarked.

He further noted that he did not want to be attacked by his own people, urging the president to honour promises he made at the constituency.

"Your excellency I don't want to be attacked in Marakwet West. I want to work according to the agenda I was given," Kipchumba stated.

The lawmaker's remarks come as President Ruto crisscrosses the country, launching new government projects and promising Kenyans more.

The Head of State is currently on a four-day tour of the Nyanza region where he has launched a number of projects and promised more goodies for the residents of the region.
