Gachagua had lamented being sidelined by President Ruto's handlers.

Kenya Kwanza government's Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects, Dennis Itumbi, has refuted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's claim that he (Gachagua) was unceremoniously removed from President William Ruto's WhatsApp group.

While appearing in an interview with a local media outlet on Friday evening, September 20, Gachagua revealed that the president's handlers were sidelining him.

He explained that he was removed from a WhatsApp forum where the president's diary would be posted.

According to him, his being ejected from the said forum made it difficult for him to align his diary with that of Ruto.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua lamented being sent out of a WhatsApp group.

With the foregoing, he mostly fails to attend the events officiated by the president, given that he does not know where to be at what time due to the logistical challenges.

However, while clarifying the matter, Itumbi stated that everyone in the group, including the president, was sent out, and the group was deleted.

This was due to the leakages of crucial information from the group.

It was agreed that no other page would be created thereafter, due to security reasons.

"The diary group was deleted. What DP Rigathi Gachagua fails to mention is that the President was removed even before him, and the group was permanently deleted due to the highly classified documents being shared in WhatsApp groups. A security decision was also made that no other group would be formed on the diary," said Itumbi.
