Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has announced that the government is keen on establishing more Huduma Centers nationwide.

In a statement issued on Thursday, October 10, the CS revealed that the government was working to have a Huduma Center in each of the 290 constituencies in the country.

He added that MPs supported the initiative hinting at a collaboration between the national government and the lawmakers.

"We’re also making strides to establish Huduma Centres in every constituency, so no one has to travel far for essential services. I’m thrilled to see Members of Parliament fully supporting this initiative to bring services closer to the people," read the statement in part.

On the other hand, the CS expressed concern over the number of uncollected documents at Huduma Centres.

Some of the documents that still need to be collected include ID cards, birth certificates and driving licences.

"Just finished my visit to Thika Huduma Centre, where I assessed how we can enhance service delivery and boost efficiency. One thing that stood out is the staggering number of uncollected documents!

"Nationally, we have over 190,000 uncollected National IDs, and right here in Thika, there are more than 2,800 birth certificates, over 10,000 IDs, and over 6,000 driving licenses waiting for their rightful owners," he added.
