ODM leader Raila Odinga's Kisii rally has been postponed.
The rally was set for today, Monday, February 13 but it was called off at the last minute, just hours after a section of Kisii politicians said the Former Prime Minister is not welcomed to the region for an anti-Ruto protest.
Kisii County ODM Chairman Kerosi Ondieki has divulged that the planned rally has been postponed to allow for consultation and proper planning.
“Following intensive consultations, we want to give everyone a chance to be present at the rally. Kisii is a political bedrock of the ODM Party and we want everyone to play a role ahead of the rally,” Ondieki said.
On Sunday former Kisii Governor James Ongwae told off Raila saying he should take his rallies elsewhere.

Ongwae said the people of Kisii are only interested in the development affairs of the community and not protests.
“I plead with our leaders not to accept any shenanigans that are meant to paint our region as rebellious and disadvantage it from the much-planned development projects by President Ruto,” Ongwae said.
Ongwae challenged leaders organising rallies in Kisii to also allow the community to benefit from national government development initiatives just like their regions had done.
On Sunday, Raila held a rally in Busia after which he was to proceed to Kisii.
The rallies are held to castigate President William Ruto's regime and also delegitimize his presidency.
