Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi
has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto for missing the Covid-19
conference earlier this week chaired by his boss president Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a video shared by Nation, Mudavadi accused Ruto of
playing deceitful politics, arguing that the DP is trying to run away from a
government he formed together with President Kenyatta.
According to Mudavadi, it was disrespectful for the DP to snub
the Covid-19 conference as it was a key event meant to address the pandemic
that has negatively affected lives of Kenyans.
“We are witnessing one of the most extraordinary things we have ever seen in a government. For 10 years come 2022 we shall have been led by the Jubilee government, but right now ladies and gentlemen we are seeing things that are unbelievable. When a resident on one side is calling a conference to talk about the Covid crisis in the country, his deputy is doing wheelbarrows somewhere else… we are seeing a situation where someone is denouncing his own boss,” Mudavadi said in part.

According to Mudavadi, Ruto should stick with the government
since he was part of the team that formed it, and should not try dodging when
things are not working out as planned.
“Now we see a scenario where the Deputy President is telling
the President I’m not part of it, it is you… You formed the government together,
if there are failings in the government, you cannot now run away from those
failings…” he divulged.
