The politician's mutilated body was found in a lake more than a month after he was reported missing.

Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has called for an immediate investigation into the abduction and killing of Della Anole Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Yussuf Hussein Ahmed.

In a statement dated October 21, Odhiambo urged the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to order the Inspector General of Police to conduct investigations into the incident.

"We demand an immediate, thorough, and independent investigation into the abduction and murder of Yussuf Hussein Ahmed. We urge the Director of Public Prosecutions to exercise his powers under Article 157(4) of the constitution and direct Inspector General of Police to urgently conduct investigations aimed at apprehending and prosecuting all those involved in this heinous crime," Odhiambo remarked.

The LSK president further called on law enforcement agencies to adhere strictly to the rule of law in the execution of their duties.

"Extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances must not be tolerated in a country that upholds constitutionalism and human rights. LSK will continue to monitor this case closely to ensure that justice is not only pursued but also served," Odhiambo stated.

On September 27, LSK reported the MCA was abducted by unknown armed assailants, an incident that occurred along Enterprise Road in Nairobi.

More than a month after he was reported missing, Ahmed's mutilated body was found in Lake Yamud within Wajir County. His family positively identified the body.

The family claimed he was taken from a taxi by armed individuals, prompting them to file a petition against the Inspector General of Police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, demanding his immediate production in court.

While appearing before the National Assembly Committee on National Security on September 26, 2024, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki said he was unaware of Ahmed's whereabouts.
