Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya has told off his naysayers after his thought-provoking speech in Bungoma.
The county boss joined other ranking leaders in Kabuchai for the send-off of Mama Anne Nanyama, mother of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.
Natembeya seemed to have rattled the government-leaning leaders and politicians after calling out the state operatives over the recent spate of abductions.
In a tweet on Saturday, January 4, the governor vowed to continue facing the holders of power with truth and calls for accountability.
Natembeya said he would not be intimidated into submission.

"I shall stand and speak for the people. I will not be cowed," he said.
In his speech, the county boss faulted the government for brutally going after young Kenyans for their conduct.
He noted that young citizens were being abducted and others killed for alleged insults against senior government officials.
The governor petitioned President William Ruto to intervene and sanction an end to the extrajudicial acts perpetrated against civilians.
National Assembly leader of majority Kimani Ichung'wah was among the leaders who went after Natembeya over his sentiments.
Ichung'wah accused the governor of playing saint over the matter of the abduction, yet he (Natembeya) has previously abetted such atrocities.
According to the Kikuyu lawmaker, Natembeya, while serving as the Rift Valley regional commissioner and coordinator, approved the abductions of civilians who were killed and their bodies dumped in Kerio Valley and River Yala.
The MP went on to accuse Natembeya of incitement and asked him to assist the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in solving the abduction cases if he had any knowledge of the abductors.
“It is not to say that there are no abductions. Abductions are there. Governor Natembeya, if you know the abductors, you are an officer and you have been a regional commissioner. Give information to the DCI for them to investigate.
“I want to ask you, Governor Natembeya, you were a regional commissioner the other day when people were abducted and killed in Kerio Valley. So at that time, you did not know Kenyans’ lives were valuable? Let me tell you today in broad daylight, the politics you are doing of dividing Kenyans on tribal lines and incitement, you will not succeed. Shame on you!” he remarked.
However, later in his rebuttal, Natembeya denied taking part in such atrocities, saying he resigned from his post as the Rift Valley RC without any stain of scandal or involvement in government excesses.
