"You cannot be released by abductors and still attend some disco in Luanda."

Belgut Member of Parliament, Nelson Koech, has urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to summon the recently released abductees for interrogation.

During an interview on Tuesday, January 7, Koech expressed skepticism, stating that the condition of the young Kenyans who were freed on Monday raised questions.

The MP observed that the individuals appeared clean and well-groomed, despite reportedly being held captive for weeks.

He claimed that this could be a staged act designed to provoke a chain of events.

"Kibet Bull claimed that he was dumped in Luanda and partied the whole night. Look at the faces of the people who have been released. They look very clean. They don't look hungry. They look well-shaven. They look like people who have been somewhere. You cannot be released by abductors and still attend some disco in Luanda. It is impossible.

"And you have been away for 15 days and still look clean and comfortable to go and dance the night away. Someone is playing a game. It looks to me that someone was staging an act to trigger a series of events. I call upon the DCI to invite these young men who were released and do interrogations to find out exactly what happened. And if it is possible, do it publicly," Koech remarked.

His remarks followed the release of cartoonist Gideon Kibet, popularly known as Kibet Bull, his brother Ronny Kiplangat, Billy Mwangi, Bernard Kavuli, and Peter Muteti on Monday.

Taking to his official X account, Kibet claimed that he was dropped off at Luanda, Vihiga County, around 3:00 a.m. on Monday morning and headed to a local 'disco matanga.'

"They dropped me in Luanda, Vihiga at 3-4 a.m. today. I did not know whether to enter or book a room. I went to a disco matanga and danced until 6 a.m. when I went to book a ticket," Kibet wrote on X.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja stated that the police have begun interviewing the released abductees.
