The woman was left for dead after her jilted former lover attacked her in her new fiance's house.

Detectives in Kisumu County have launched a manhunt for a man who traced his ex-lover to her new home.

The jilted suspect, identified as Sebi Obonyo, is said to have taken offence at his former girlfriend's decision to dump him for a different man.

Unable to endure the loss, the man followed his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend to her new marital home in Nyakbong' village of Kamjulum, Kisumu East.

He immediately embarked on attacking her, according to the police.

"The suspect, Sebi Obonyo, is reported to have accosted the lady at her current boyfriend's house around 4.45pm Friday, April 18, stabbing her twice on the left ear and chest with a sharp object," a statement from the DCI read.

The woman screamed for help as Obonyo indicated the determination to fatally harm her.

Her distress calls caught the attention of the villagers, who showed up quickly to save her.

The attacker took off immediately to escape the wrath of the responders.

The woman, left bleeding profusely, was rushed to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Training and Referral Hospital for medical help.

The matter was reported to the police, who immediately started a search for the suspect.

In other related news, the DCI detectives arrested a suspected serial killer linked to 2 murders in Thika.

Samuel King'ara Kimani, who was apprehended on April 14, is said to have been targeting young women in his heinous acts.

According to the detectives, the suspect would attack the women walking along isolated paths before sexually assaulting them.

In the first case, 22-year-old Rosemary Njeri Ndekei was reported to have gone to Thika Town to purchase clothes; she did not return home.

A day later, villagers discovered her body at a coffee plantation; her family positively identified the body.

In the second murder, 20-year-old Hellen Wambui Ndung'u was attacked by the suspect on March 31, after she was sent to buy foodstuffs.

Similar to the first victim, Wambui was dragged to a coffee plantation before being attacked.

The detectives obtained custodial orders to withhold him further as they complete their investigations.
