The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along Ngong Road near the Junction Mall area.
In a notice on Thursday, November 6, KURA said the disruption will take place from Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
The authority said the disruption will facilitate the erection of a steel structure for the flyover project, which is currently under construction.

KURA noted that works will be carried out daily between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM except on Sundays.
During the period, traffic will be diverted between Nairobi City County Training School and Kenya Science Campus to accommodate two-way traffic within the section.
The authority urged motorists to exercise caution and to follow directions from police officers and traffic marshals who will be deployed on-site.
“Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section and to observe all traffic signs and directions issued by police officers and traffic marshals who will be on site to ensure smooth traffic flow as indicated in the sketch below,” KURA added.
The construction of the Ngong Road-Naivasha Road flyover commenced in September 2024 and is expected to be completed in July 2027.
The project is being funded by a loan of Ksh3.58 billion from the Spanish of Spain Corporate International Fund (FIEM).
On October 28, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the construction of the flyover is a critical intervention under the government's infrastructure modernization programme.
The flyover will feature four lanes on top and six lanes below, designed to significantly improve traffic flow near the Junction Mall.
It will also integrate 23 traffic lights to enhance road safety and efficiency, ensuring smooth navigation for all users.
“Upon completion, the flyover will also ease mobility to and from the iconic, upcoming Talanta Stadium, ensuring seamless access while blending sporting excellence and smart infrastructure,” said PS Omollo.
