This comes a year after Amollo's son Rodney Abel Amollo officially expressed his marriage commitment to his long-time lover Elle Cecilia.

The groom was escorted to the bride's native home in Migori county where dowry was negotiated.

In attendance were Luo-Nyanza's high-profile politicians, among them the bride's father, Otiende, Siaya Governor James Orengo, Migori Governor Ochillo Ayacko, former MP Elizabeth Ongoro, and George Wajackoyah among others.

Sharing photos captured in the event on X, formerly Twitter, Orengo congratulated the couple for the milestone they would be achieving soon.

"Congratulations, Cecilia and Rodney Amollo, on your big day. Best wishes on this wonderful journey as you build your new lives together. May the years ahead be filled with lasting joy. May the true love you share today grow stronger as you grow old together. To the entire Amollo family, I am happy for you," said Orengo.

Elsewhere, this comes weeks after National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi's daughter, Ann Natalie Mbadi, graduated from an Australian university.

In an update on Tuesday, September 9, Mbadi announced that his daughter was conferred with a Master of Law in Labour and Employment Law from Monash University in Melbourne.

He shared the joy of the achievement, noting that he attended the graduation alongside his wife, Roda Mbadi.

"Alongside my spouse Roda Mbadi, we had the honour of witnessing the conferment of our daughter Ann Natalie Mbadi who graduated with Masters of Law in Labour and Employment Law at Monash University in Melbourne City, Australia," he said.

Mbadi described the ceremony as an emotional moment for him as a parent, reflecting on the journey of raising his daughter and witnessing her accomplishment.

"Seeing her match gently down the aisle, up the rostrum together with fellow graduates wasn't just fulfilling, the moment invoked silent tears of parental love. Congratulations Natalie, we are proud of you daughter," he added.
