The Public Service Commission has announced approximately 1,000 job vacancies in the Ministry of Education, specifically targeting the State Department for Vocational and Technical Training.

On Wednesday, December 17, the commission published an advertisement seeking qualified degree holders, Higher National Diploma holders, and diploma holders to fill positions of Vocational and Technical Trainers across Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions nationwide.

The positions are distributed across various TVET institutions in all 47 counties, with institutions such as Baringo National Polytechnic, Eldama Ravine Technical and Vocational College, and Emining Technical Training Institute among those seeking new trainers.

Some of the larger institutions with significant vacancies include Bungoma National Polytechnic with 10 positions, The Mawego National Polytechnic with 10 positions, Shamberere National Polytechnic with 10 positions, Sigolagala National Polytechnic with 10 positions, Thika Technical Training Institute with 10 positions, Kisii National Polytechnic with 10 positions, The Kiambu National Polytechnic with 10 positions, and The Kisumu National Polytechnic with 10 positions.

Other institutions include technical colleges in Baringo, Bomet, Bungoma, Garissa, Elgeyo Marakwet, Embu, Homa Bay, Isiolo, Kakamega, Kericho, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Kisumu, and many other counties across the country.

The positions are divided between trainers with degree or Higher National Diploma qualifications and those with diploma qualifications, reflecting the varied training needs across different technical disciplines.

Qualified candidates interested in any of the advertised positions can access the jobs on the official website and must submit their applications through the PSC's online platforms, available at www.publicservice.go.ke.

On Tuesday, the commission announced another major recruitment drive with over 800 job opportunities available across various State Departments. Through a public notice issued on December 16, PSC called upon qualified Kenyans to submit applications for both leadership and entry-level roles.

The Tuesday announcement revealed that the openings cut across numerous government sectors, including Economic Planning, Foreign Affairs, Public Service, Devolution, Trade, Climate Change, Lands, Youth Affairs, Regional Development, Children Services, Social Protection, and Senior Citizen Affairs.

Senior positions advertised on Tuesday included Secretary of the Government Delivery Unit, Secretary Economic Planning, Director Foreign Service/Minister II, Deputy Director Foreign Service/Minister Counsellor, Secretary for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Chief Engineer for Materials, Director of Domestic Trade, Secretary Youth Development, and Director Meteorological Services, among others.

Entry-level opportunities from Tuesday's advertisement included Administration Officer II, Human Resource Management & Development Officer II, Compliance Audit Officer II, Ethics & Values Officer II, Accountant II, Internal Auditor II, Records Management Officer II, ICT Officer II, Research Officer II, Policy Analyst II, and Supply Chain Management Officer II.

Other junior positions included Devolution Officer II, Land Information Officer II, Lands Records Management Assistant III, Clerical Officer II, and Office Assistant III across various state departments.
