State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita has said that he is under pressure to quit the Machakos gubernatorial race.
Speaking on Sunday, Nzioka mentioned that a section of Ukambani leaders has asked him to shelve his ambition to allow experienced politicians to compete for the Governorship.
However, the State House Chief of Staff maintained that he would be in the race and engage their Machakos citizens on their needs.
“I have been under pressure from Senior politicians in the Ukambani region who want me to back out of the race and give way for my competitors to battle it out.

“I want to state categorically that I’ll not drop out of the race,” Nzioka stated.

Nzioka Waita recently announced that he would be resigning on 9th February 2022 as he eyes the Machakos Governor's seat.
"I will work till the 9th of Feb. I will make a farewell call to the president and ask for his blessings and support and thank him for allowing me to work for the people of Kenya in his service," Waita said.
Waita noted that he would convince the people of Machakos that their resources are in safe hands promising to transform the County.
"I have no political experience; I am an administrator. The county has enough politicians, they don’t need more. I want to help the county manage its money and ensure people get the services they need," he said.
