President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to join ODM leader Raila Odinga in popularising the Azimio La Umoja coalition starting next week.
Speaking during ODM's National Delegates Conference, the ODM leader said they will conduct nationwide campaigns before launching a joint presidential candidate.
"We have decided that from next week, we shall start countrywide tours to promote the movement
"We shall then come back to Nairobi, have an official launch and unveil our joint candidate," Raila said.
Raila attended his NDC in Kasarani before joining Uhuru at his Jubilee NDC in a rare show of unity since the March 18 handshake at Harambee House.
"We are unveiling Azimio One Kenya Alliance and we will defeat them," Uhuru said.
Jubilee and ODM have already signed cooperating agreements with various parties which will all be under the new coalition.
On Friday, Friday 25, the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) joined ODM and Jubilee in forming the coalition, noting that their political ideologies resonate well with them.
"As OKA, we firmly believe in an open, honest, and structured dialogue whose basis is the promotion of national unity; upholding and respecting the dignity of all Kenyans; ending the culture of corruption and impunity, and restoring the decency of living within our borders," Wiper leader Raila Odinga said.
Hours before the announcement, ODM and the Jubilee parties nominated Raila Odinga as their preferred presidential flagbearer.
ODM National Executive Committee made the announcement after a meeting held at Chungwa House, Nairobi, on Thursday.
"That it be proposed to the NGC to ratify the decision by NEC that the Orange Democratic Movement formally joins the Azimio la Umoja coalition/ coalition party," ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said in a statement.
