Bevalyne Kwamboka, a university graduate who went viral for selling chips on the roadside, has suspended her services.
Taking it to her official Twitter account on Tuesday, the university graduate cited hiking cooking oil prices as the major reason for the suspension of her business.
Kwamboka further indicated that Irish potatoes were retailing at higher prices than before adding that she was making zero profits from her business.
“To all Chipo mwitu supporters, due to increase in waru n cooking oil prices we have officially 'suspended' selling Chipo until further notice Waru was 1200 now 3200 Oil was 1200 now 2350 (10l) Profit ziko almost zero,” Kwamboka tweeted.
She, however, said that her focus was now turned to avocadoes and bananas while she will also engage in part-time coaching of pupils. She had graduated as a teacher from Kenyatta University last December.

Her announcement was a big blow to her customers who were quick to express their disappointment over her move with many calling on the government over the high cost of food.
“This is what Uhuru's government is doing to so many businesses but we are too blinded by politics that we'd rather stay oppressed to our oppressors. He's taken the cover of Azimio to do inexcusable things in an election year coz sisi ni wajinga,” @YayohKE replied.
“It's so sad how small businesses continue to suffer as the administration is watching and keep increasing taxes burdening families and make the youths more hopeless,” @Fraser98 replied.
Kwamboka rose to fame last year after she was spotted selling chips along the Outer Ring Road, Nairobi.
