The Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, Eng. Karanja Kibicho has cautioned leaders and Kenyans against incitement and violence during public rallies.
Kibicho who was recently accused of being behind a scheme that hired goons to cause chaos in Murang'a says the government will, by all means, protect Kenyans.
According to the PS, political gatherings should not be used as death traps and that the country had already move on from violent political contestation.
"Elections are not a fight to the death; neither should political rallies be death traps. We've been through moments of political violence & we should never accept to go down that path again! The government will do everything within the law to protect Kenyans against incitement to violence," stated Kibicho.
He made the remarks on Wednesday afternoon through his Twitter handle at a time a high ranking ministry official closely working President Kenyatta is facing an accusation of fueling chaos.

Leaders at an event attended by Deputy President William Ruto at Kenol, Murang'a claimed that PS Kibicho, CS Fred Matiang'i sponsored goons to disrupt the event.
The deputy president on Tuesday afternoon asked the Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai to ensure that police officers are not used to play politics.
He said, "police officers must not be used to do political assignments. They must be neutral."
On Monday, the IG stated orders for the arrest of MPs Alice Wahome and Ndindi Nyoro over the violence witnessed at Kenol, at a church where the two were hosting the DP for a fundraiser.
