Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across seven counties, including Nyeri and Kiambu, on Monday.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across seven counties on Monday, December 1.

In a statement on Sunday, November 30, the company said the outages are meant to facilitate for planned maintenance exercises.

The scheduled outages will affect parts of West Pokot, Nandi, Nyamira, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Kiambu, and Taita Taveta counties.

In West Pokot County, the outage will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Sigor, Ipet, Tamkal, Chesta, Chesta Teachers College, Lomut Market and adjacent customers.

In Nandi County, two separate outages are planned. 

The first, affecting Kamobo and Kapsasur, will occur from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., impacting Surungai, Kamobo, Rapsasur, Chepsono 1, Yala, Tindiyo, Kaimos 1, Chepkumia, Bonjoge, Koibarak and adjacent customers.

The second outage in Nandi will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Nandi Hills Town, affecting Nandi Hills Town, Nandi Tea, Kipkimba, Bethesda Hospital and adjacent customers.

In Nyamira County, power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Matutu and Gesima areas. 

The affected locations are Mosebeti Market, Gesima Market, Mochenwa Market, Matunwa Tea Factory, Esani Market, Matutu, Enchoro Royal Media Transmitter, Nyokoria Market and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, an outage scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. will affect parts of Sasini, Njengu and Kihuyo.

In Kirinyaga County, the planned interruption will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., targeting Karaini and Old Kangaita. 

Areas to be affected include Professor Mugera, Karaini Market, Kamuruana Village, Mutuma Village, Giatathe TBC, Kiranja Junction, Kangaita Tea Farm and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, part of Kenyatta Road will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The specific areas listed are Mama Ngina University, Ichaweri Village, Theta Tea Factory, Wangui Market, Kahata Village, Gatitu Mission, Gathiru Market, Kiganjo Market, Gatina Village and adjacent customers.

I Taita Taveta County, the utility will switch off power between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. around Mngama Primary, affecting Mngama Primary and adjacent customers.
