The Ministry of Health on Tuesday confirmed having lost 14 patients to Covid-19 bringing the fatality tally to 934.
There were 836 people tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 4,076 tested in 24 hours. This brought to 50,833 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country.
The latest new cases represent a 20.51 percent positivity rate, one of the highest reported since the outbreak was confirmed in Kenya.
The number of recoveries on Tuesday stood at 403 people, 250 of whom were from the home-based care program, while 153 patients were discharged from various hospitals.

Covid-19 in learning institutions
So far, there are 20 students and teachers who have tested positive in Mombasa alone since the reopening of schools. Out of these, 16 are those from Tononoka Secondary school where the principal succumbed to Covid-19.
The rest were cases found at Star of the Sea School. Five doctors and ten nurses have also been confirmed to have contracted Covid-19 at Kakamega General Hospital.
The medics have told the media that they're exposed due to insufficient PPEs.
