Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has dismissed claims that he is supporting Deputy President William Ruto's candidature in the August General Elections.
Through his Twitter page, the city lawyer disputed the claims noting that he is yet to declare his preferred presidential candidate.
Ahmednasir also took issue with ODM supporters who are attacking him when he had not endorsed DP Ruto or any other candidate.
"I'm not running for office. I'm a private citizen with small law practice. I have not declared my stand. I'm neutral 100%
"I have not endorsed DP Ruto or any other politician yet 40% of ODM's and its attack dogs direct their anger, frustrations, despair at me, why?" He wondered.

His statement sparked reactions from a section of social media users including lawyer Makau Mutua who insisted that the latter supports DP Ruto and had replaced Dennis Itumbi as the DP's chief blogger.
"GM, you can’t even make this fake denial in any Mandera village with a straight face! You’ve replaced Dennis Itumbi as the main attack dog/propagandist for William Ruto
"Don’t be a coward ashamed of being Ruto’s chief blogger. Embrace him proudly. It’s okay that’s your daily job," said Mutua.
In November 2021, Ahmednasir sparked mixed reactions after claiming that retired Chief Justice David Maraga allegedly called him at night begging him to save his job.
In an affidavit, the lawyer claimed that the retired CJ begged him to save his job by lobbying a Commissioner he identifies as Abdullahi.
“I remember Maraga was literally shouting please help me, my brother, my career is over, I am finished... the former CJ begged me to lobby commissioner Abdullahi. Maraga was one of the senior lawyers practising in Nakuru and welcomed us, following his strong solicitation and constant lobbying we included him in a list of 35 lawyers and was appointed Judge in 2004
"When the plaintiff applied for the promotion to be appointed Judge of Appeal, I met the plaintiff whilst I was in the company of my wife. He pleaded with me to look into his application favourably," Ahmednasir stated in his affidavit.
