Miguna asked Mutunga to remain faithful and keep his promise made close to three months ago.

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has called out former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga for failing to keep his promise to bring him back to the country.

In an update on his Twitter page, the exiled lawyer noted that he was still waiting for the former CJ and his entourage to arrive in Canada as promised.

Miguna asked Mutunga to remain faithful and keep his promise made close to three months ago.

"I'm still waiting for CJ Emeritus Willy Mutunga's arrival with his esteemed delegation that was scheduled to land at the Toronto Pearson on November 12, 2021

"We must keep demanding that each one of us remain faithful to promises we give - from Uhuru to the villager," he stated.

In November 2021, Mutunga announced his intent to travel to Canada alongside the United Green Movement, the Communist Party of Kenya and the Ukweli Party to bring Miguna back to Kenya.

"After careful reflection and following broad consultations with lawyers, human rights and justice defenders, progressive politicians, and Mr Miguna himself, I have decided to travel to Toronto, Canada, to accompany Mr Miguna on his flight back to his motherland on 16 November 2021," Mutunga said in an article on Elephant Info.

He added;

"I have taken this extraordinary step for two fundamental reasons. The first is because of the continued, flagrant and reprehensible defiance of the Government of Kenya, its agencies and senior officials, against the numerous valid court orders in favour of Mr Miguna. The second reason why I have decided to undertake this journey is to support and defend the independence of our judiciary, its authority, and the people’s confidence in it."
