Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday, February 8 received leaders who resigned from the government to join politics.
The DP welcomed the leaders to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party in a brief meeting at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi.
They include Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Labour CAS Patrick Ntutu, Petroleum and Mining CAS Engineer John Mosonik, Wildlife Principal Secretary Fred Segor and Tourism CAS Joseph Boinnet.
This came just moments after CS Keter announced his resignation in a press conference where he expressed gratitude to President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving him the opportunity to serve in his cabinet.
Keter will be contesting for the Kericho gubernatorial seat in the August 9 General Elections.

"However, today, I quit the government to focus on my ambitions on Kericho governor seat," he said.
Former Inspector General of Police Boinnet resigned as the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife on Tuesday, February 3.
Boinnet announced that he will be vying for the Elgeyo Marakwet gubernatorial seat.
“Today’s appearance in Parliament marks the end of my duty as a CAS because immediately after this I am going to tender my resignation because I intend to vie for Elgeyo Marakwet’s gubernatorial seat," he stated.
On the other hand, Mining and Petroleum CAS Mosonik will contest for the Bomet Governor seat in the upcoming general elections.
“In 2022 I will be gunning up for the gubernatorial seat in Bomet County. This is a decision which has arrived after searching and thinking over it,” Mosonik said
Labour CAS Ole Ntutu will be contesting for the Narok governor's seat while Wildlife PS Segor will vie for the same seat in Baringo county.
